Know When It’s Our Recruiters Contacting
What is Phishing
One of the ways that online scammers and hackers try to get information from people is through phishing. Phishing is an often illegal practice through different means of online communication. This is often carried out via text message, email or false links placed on social media sites.
Sometimes, hackers will brand themselves and pretend to be a recruiting member from KAS Placement. To help you identify what these may look like, here is an example of a text message NOT from our recruiters.
Identify Fake SMS Job Messages
There are some common characteristics of poor actors impersonating our recruiters with fake text messages. Most fake text messages using KAS Placement’s name will have one or many of the characteristics listed.
- If you receive a text message saying you may qualify for high-paying hourly jobs.
- If you are instructed to share more information on WhatsApp or any other platform, it is NOT from KAS Placement.
- KAS Placement will never instruct a job seeker to join a private chat room or DM to see available jobs.
- KAS Placement employees WILL NEVER ask you for any financial or confidential information prior to an interview.

How to Authenticate KAS Placement Text Messages
How do you know that KAS Placement sent a text message. Just like the phishing emails, there are certain characteristics of real KAS Placement job search text messages.
Also, you can email the corporate headquarters to verify the employee. To do so, please provide the phone number they are texting from and their name.
- Unlikely to contain any links. If any, will only contain links to a url pointing to www.kasplacement.com
- Will include the recruiter’s first name, last name and official title
- Will be accompanied by an email from that recruiter from a kasplacement.com email address
- Will conduct all interviews via Zoom with a branded account
- Can be verified by writing hiring@kasplacement.com
