New York City Recruiters - Finding Your Company Top Notch Sales EmployeesOur New York sales recruiters will be the first to tell you that good sales people are hard to find and could cost a lot. Therefore, our staffing agency strongly recommends that, when interviewing, you attempt to calculate the ROI (return on investment) that this sales employee is going to bring you and your company. If a sales employee can make you money, our recruiters suggest putting compensation aside and making the hire.
Our New York City recruiters find applicants through various means. Some of these mediums include using an internal database strictly comprised of sales, marketing and media recruiters. Because our New York sales and marketing recruiters form very strong relationships with our job applicants, if our sales recruiting agencies don't have a particular candidate upon a client call, we can connect with some of these former colleagues to obtain references. While many New York sales recruiters don't make it a point to establish relationships with the applicants who call the staffing agency, our sales employment agents do.
Additionally, our New York sales recruiters use different forms of online and social media to recruit employment applicants. Our New York City headhunters have an internal Twitter account which we give out to our better applicants, and when a client gives our staffing professionals a new job mandate, we can reach hundreds of job seekers within seconds. Also, our recruiters receive an abundance of resumes each day. This website traffic is partly due to our internal marketing efforts. To make sure that our New York sales recruiters are not missing any good applicants, we have dedicated search experts who look through each application sent.
The Shift from Traditional Print Media to Online and Social Media
Marketing Job Seeker Initiatives of our New York City Recruiters
In addition to focusing on sales, our New York City recruiters are experts in marketing as well. Therefore, our New York sales recruiters have opened up a new division in our New York City office to accommodate the growing demand for marketing professionals. Due to the fact that our sales recruiting agency does all of the KAS marketing in house, our New York City recruiters are able to decipher which job applicants would be either successful or unhelpful upon being hired as a marketing professional.
Lately, our New York City recruiters have seen an immense need for online marketing professionals. Due to the fact that we have in house recruiters who are also online marketing professionals, the recruitment division at KAS is able to help our clients find the person whom they need quite quickly and effectively. Our New York sales and marketing recruiters know that online marketing is not easy due to the competitive landscape of online media, blogging and writing SEO pages. To be successful at online marketing, a job applicant needs to be very familiar with Twitter, blogging and formulating search engine optimization pages. Additionally, they need great writing skills and an ability to write very interesting articles which will grab the attention of potential customers.
Slowly but surely, online marketing is replacing cold calling. The name of the game these days is go get clients to come to you. This is primarily done through getting Google to rank your website on the first page upon a potential customer searching for particular keywords. It may sound a little easier than it is. A few years ago, writing a simple three hundred page article stuffed with keywords and then leaving it to be was more than sufficient. Our New York City Recruiters know that this is no longer the key to online success. To make a Google friendly website is not an easy task nor does it take a month or two. As a matter of fact, it could take up to a year.
Therefore, upon placing a marketing professional, our New York City Recruiters look for someone who has the stamina to compete at this complex game. Getting ranked by Google entails constant Twitter use, consistent updates to all pages of the website, an ability to cold call for anchor links, a top notch, interesting writing acumen, patience, perseverance and a drive to beat the competition at the game that is online marketing. Second to frequent updates of the site with relevant, interesting content is the ability to obtain reputable links from other sites. For instance, if you are a hotel chain, gaining a link from a recruitment blog will not do much. Though, getting a link with anchor text from a hotel list is invaluable. However, if your marketing professional goes after not relevant, banned by Google sites to obtain anchor text links, Google will swiftly penalize your site. Our New York City Recruiters know that this is essentially walking on egg shells, therefore we can test all job seekers.
For any marketing professional, sometimes it could take months to get a good, reputable link. Other sites will only link to your site if it looks good, has great information and they feel that directing their audience to your site will be helpful. This is the hardest part of online marketing. It takes many cold emails and cold calls, most of which end up in rejection or unanswered response. However, since our New York City Recruiters are very good at this and are quickly able to tell who can and cannot perform this feat.
Interview Preparation Help from our New York City Recruiters
Tough Interview Questions for Sales, Marketing and Media ApplicantsNote: These questions are a mixture of senior, mid and entry level questions
Why have you been out of work for so long?
The longer you have been out of a job, the harder it will be to give a sufficient answer to this question. The KAS New York City recruiters say that you always want to focus on the positive, however, and make it seem like you have been in complete control of you hiatus from working. Express how you wanted to take the time to find a new position that you could really devote yourself to and how you are looking to make a long term commitment somewhere rather than jumping at the first opportunity that came along. You can also focus on what you have achieved in your time off and how you have actually continued your professional development since your last position ended. Make sure to give specific examples.
What are your greatest Weaknesses? (mid and entry level specific)
This question is tricky because you don't actually want to associate yourself with any weaknesses in the employer's mind, however, since everyone has weaknesses, it sounds false to say you have none. Focus on something minor that you have been able to overcome and then talk about how based on what you have learned about the position, you honestly feel that the job would draw on all your greatest strengths, making you the perfect candidate.
Aren't you overqualified for this position?
Again, you want to steer your interviewer away from seeing any of your traits as negative. Our New York City recruiters suggest that you discuss how your experience is an asset to the company and talk about your desire to commit to a long time position. Acknowledging a tight job market and your preference for taking a less senior position with a company that truly interests you rather than taking a less satisfying job with more prestige is a great way to answer this question.
Describe one thing you did or didn't do that you now regret.
You never want to admit regret. Acknowledge that you may have missed an opportunity or made a mistake somewhere along the line but that you are not the type of person to harbor regrets - everything is an opportunity to learn and improve.
Why are you leaving (or have left) this position?
Never badmouth your past company, managers, colleagues, etc. You are the one that ends up looking like the difficult personality. If you are not yet 100% sure that you are going to leave your current position, don't be afraid to say so. Be open about what you are hoping to find in a new company and discuss what aspects of this particular position have caught your interest. If you do not currently have a job, it is best to be completely honest about why. If you were let go, it is very easy for anyone to find out the truth as to why so it might as well come from you. Being honest about why you are unemployed will demonstrate your integrity.
What are your career options right now?
You want to be able to present yourself as a commodity. If you are still working, talk about what opportunities lie ahead for you should you decide to stay. If you are currently unemployed, discuss any other options your are considering. Just be careful not to sound manipulative or over-confident.
The Silent Treatment
Our New York City recruiters hope that none of our candidates ever come across an interviewer who uses this technique, but since it has happened in the past we feel it is our duty to send out a fair warning. Some interviewers may use silence as an intimidation tactic. Don't let yourself fall for it. After hearing the answer to a question, instead of giving feedback or continuing on to the next one, an interviewer may simply remain silent. Candidates who are unprepared for this suddenly become afraid that they have said something wrong or offensive and begin to ramble just to cover the silence, often talking themselves into a whole in the process. If you encounter the silent treatment, simply say something like, "Is there anything you would like me to elaborate on?"
Why aren't you making more money at this stage in your career?
Talk about how while you do like and strive to make money, other things in your career have been more important. It is good to share any specific examples of having turned down making more money in favor of something that was more satisfying on a greater level.
I'm concerned you might not have enough experience in....
If an interviewer asks you this question, take it as a good sign. It means that they are very interested in you and have been able to narrow down any reservations they may have about hiring you down to one specific point of your resume. Acknowledge that you agree as to why whatever particular point of experience they are referring to would be crucial to this position and then elaborate on experience you have that might not be clear on your resume but would give you the necessary qualifications to do the position successfully.
