Ever wonder what happens to inventory sold at high-end grocery stores before it goes bad?  Our client is a food brokerage firm specializing in moving high-end food inventory prior to expiration.

They acquire inventory and sell to food banks, regional markets, dollar stores, correctional facilities and more.  Right now, they are looking to hire a senior level sales executive in their New York City office.

About the Job

Due to sustained growth, they’re to recruiting an uniquely ambitious Sales Executive to further market presence.  In many ways, this person will be very important to the company both now and in the years to come.

While the food brokerage industry may seem technical, employees from a diverse set of industry backgrounds succeed. Therefore, what your industry experience is not their chief focus.  Rather, sales representatives are trained in-house and can come from any b2b sales job capacity.

Instead, they prioritize candidates who have strong sales fundamentals, unmatched work ethic and hunger to surpass their own goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a high volume of outbound sales calls daily to existing and former clients, identifying new deal opportunities.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships to foster repeat business and long-term partnerships.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and volume deals that align with client needs and company goals.
• Collaborate closely with inventory, purchasing, and operations teams to match client demand with product
availability.
• Maintain accurate records of all sales activities in the CRM system, including deal progress, follow-ups, and
closed sales.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of inside sales experience, ideally in a high-call-volume, transactional environment (e.g. wholesale, B2B, brokerage, or logistics).
• Proven track record of hitting or exceeding sales.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills, especially over the phone.
• Sharply honed ability to listen, build rapport, and close.
• High level of creativity that you use strategically in your sales process to close deals that others might let fall
through.
• Track record of thriving in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
