KAS Online Media Recruiters
The KAS marketing recruiters have seen a rapid development of online media technology and usage in recent years. As the Internet has become more accessible and prominent within our culture, the use of online media as a communication tool has taken over industrial forms. Online media evolved into a multitude of forms such as blogs, forums, online video, networking sites, music sharing programs, vlogs, wikis and microblogs, among others.
As defined by Andreas Kaplan and Michael Haenlein, online or social media is "a group of Internet based applications that build on the ideological and technological foundations of Web 2.0 and that allow the creation and exchange of user-generated content." In light of its many uses and applications, perhaps the most significant change online media has initiated within our society is the transference of power of the dissemination of information from a few limited and controlled sources to the general public. Whereas published news reports and opinions as well as personal accounts and expressions were once limited to newspapers, books and television, now anyone with access to the Internet, either through a computer or mobile phone can broadcast live to hundreds of thousands of Internet users worldwide. This democratization of information sharing has revolutionized our ability to communicate and re-shaped our relationship to current events.
However, KAS's marketing recruiters have also recognized that this widespread access to information and heavy use of the Internet means that it is harder than ever to be recognized in the ever growing mob of buzz. Knowing how to become a recognized voice amongst all the noise takes creativity and innovation. With their own experience in the social media marketing field, our marketing recruiters know what it takes to be effective as an online media marketer and how to use the Internet to help a business grow and succeed.
What our online marketing recruiters look for in a marketing representative
There are many traits that the headhunters at KAS Placement look for in a sales professional. The majority of the time that clients come to our sales and marketing recruitment agency is to find a business development professional which can increase their revenue stream and provide a return on their investment. Therefore, our online marketing recruiters actively look for sales professionals who can effectively prospect for new business via various channels. Some of the ways the best salesmen and saleswomen work is through cold calling, targeted emails, attending networking events and, most importantly, utilizing current industry contacts in order to obtain meetings with corporate decision makers. Our social media recruitment team believes that cold calling will only get a person so far, industry contacts are far more effective.
Additionally, our staffing agents seek out business development job applicants who have a hunter mentality and who are able to handle constant rejection. As far as sales styles go, our online media marketing recruiters look for individuals who have a combination of aggressive and consultative sales styles. In the past few decades, consultative selling has become the popular method of choice amongst executive level sales representatives. Consultative selling is more of a question and answer method in which the business development professional, through questions, attempts to figure out the prospective client's needs. Then, he or she will tailor their product or service accordingly. For dedicated account managers, this is especially necessary. However, some salesmen and saleswomen who only possess a consultative sales style, will fail to close a deal mainly due to the fact that they will not ask for the business. This is where the aggressive selling comes into play.
Our online media marketing recruiters additionally look for a sales representative who has a history of selling online or social media offerings as not everyone can make a smooth transition into this vertical. Online marketing professionals must keep up with industry changes, and the technological and intellectual advances in the field are frequent and fast. One day, a website can be the "talk of the town," and the next it could see its hits and fan base significantly drop. This is unlike the telecommunications industry where technological breakthroughs are slow and predictable.
For this reason, not only does our marketing recruitment agency look for someone who has been in the industry, our business development staffing agents seek out an employment applicant who has experience selling into our client's targeted industry. This is extremely important to our online media and marketing recruiters, as someone who has sold into the food and beverage vertical is not going to make an easy transition selling to major financial firms such as Goldman Sachs, J.P. Morgan, Citibank and into various hedge funds. A marketing representative will also understand why using this application will benefit the end user, thus giving him or her ammo upon meeting with various C-level executives.
What our staffing agents look for in a marketing professional
Online and social media marketing is an extremely competitive field. Now, just about anyone can formulate and bring to the market, various applicants in which the end user can place on their smart phones, computers and, most recently their Ipads. Therefore, our online media marketing recruiters look for marketing executives who can actively promote their social media brand in a unique and interesting manner. We look for those with a high level of creativity. Let's assume that a marketing professional is working for a smaller news company who is looking to obtain additional advertising fees by bringing a new application to the market. Our executive headhunting team understands that this is no easy task. Some of the various companies in which this person would have to compete with are the major news companies, smaller, but popular niche news firms and other applications. It really takes the best of the best to successfully position their offering and differentiate themselves from these corporate rivals.
Since nearly every company is clamoring to get into various types of social media, our online media marketing recruiters look for marketing professionals who have great experience in our client's field. For instance, let's assume that a marketing executive works in the gaming field – whether it be for a big video game company such as EA Sports, or a smaller, less known online video game provider. It is best that this person does not attempt to switch over to the sports or travel vertical as the learning curve would be extremely steep and costly for our client. Because of this, our online media recruiters like to send our recruiting entities people who are knowledgeable about the field and can seamlessly transition into a marketing role.
How we find our sales and marketing applicants
KAS Placement has many ways in which our staffing professionals locate qualified marketing and sales applicants. If you visit our open jobs page you will see some of the different marketing and sales positions in which we are working on. Due to heavy online marketing, the KAS Placement website receives over one hundred unique visitors per day all around the U.S. and Canada. When our online media marketing recruiters post a new job, major newspapers will repost the open employment opportunities; this is in conjunction with smaller job listing sites such as Indeed.
Additionally, KAS Placement frequently uses social media sites such as Twitter and LinkedIn. At any time, our executive headhunting professionals can Tweet hundreds of followers on our Twitter application. Upon using this sales recruitment tactic, job seekers from all over the country are informed about the clients with whom we are working. KAS Placement often receives a few very fitting CVs through this method.
Since our online media marketing recruiters work only in sales and marketing, we have an internal resume database comprised of thousands marketing and business development pre-interviewed professionals. Often, when a new or existing client comes to our organization in order to staff an open slot within their company, our staffing professionals already have a few qualified candidates. Even if these particular individuals are not in the job market, we often obtain referrals from the existing resumes which we have. Finally, our online media recruiters pay for access to nearly every major job search engine which includes Monster, Yahoo, CareerBuilder and the Ladders. These often come in handy when a client comes to our firm with a very specific job request. Our head of research, Alison Ringo, ensures that we have all the necessary information to finds the best candidates for our client.
Recruiting fees
KAS Placement charges a fee of 20% of the staffed employee's base compensation. Our recruiters take no additional fees pertaining to bonuses, signing fees, commission or health-care and benefits. We work on a 30/60/90 day prorated guarantee in which three payments are made throughout the tenure of the recruited employee. These payments are due after 30 days, after 60 days and after 90 days of employment. At each juncture, 1/3 of the total payment (.2 x base compensation), is due.
To give an example, let's assume that a sales or marketing employee is being paid $150,000. The fees paid to our online media recruiters would be a total of $30,000. $10,000 of this fee would be due after the employee was with your organization for 30 days, the next $10,000 would be due after 60 days, then the remaining fee would be payable after the 90th day of employment. If the employee was to leave at any of these junctures and KAS Placement found a suitable applicant to replace the individual, the guarantee would restart at 0 days.
