Los Angeles Sales and Marketing Executive Search Agency

KAS Placement is a Los Angeles and New York City based executive recruitment agency which specializes in staffing both marketing and sales professionals domestically and in Canada. Each LA recruiter at our offices is very knowledgeable about all facets of sales such as new business acquisition specialists, channel sales representatives, dedicated account managers (includes minimal to no prospecting, but simply management of current clients), sales engineers, print marketing job seekers, television and radio marketing specialists and, finally online and social media marketing experts.

Each LA recruiter at the KAS Placement Los Angeles headquarters works with nearly every level of marketing or sales employees including executive, vice presidential, managerial, senior level sales and marketing professionals all the way down to mid and entry level recent college graduates. Some of the industry verticals in which we work include entertainment (commercial and television advertisement sales), nearly every aspect of finance including hedge funds and fund of funds, insurance, various types of hardware sales, software, business process outsourcing, telecommunications, food and beverage, cosmetics and skincare, fashion, construction including specification and CAD software, engineering, educational software and services, leisure hotel and travel, printing and office supplies, healthcare, interior design, semiconductor and much more.

A Brief Look at the Recruitment History of KAS Placement

KAS Placement was founded in 2004 by Ken Sundheim. After graduating from Fordham University in late 2003, Ken decided to continue with his current sales position selling SEC and NASD compliance software to financial institutions in which he was working part time during college. Here he learned from some of the best entrepreneurs he’s met. Though, after a few months, Ken left to join a larger, publicly traded company where Ken learned how to run a bad business.

Upon seeing the gaps in this company and the lack of motivation by its employees to become better, Ken told a few upper management people to sell their equity in the company. Due to this, he was forced to resign. At the time he left, the stock was selling for more than $50 per share and hit a low at roughly $8 in October 2008. As of late March 2010, it has raised to only $17 a share. Weary and tired of going right back into the corporate world, Ken found a book on recruiting, and through much trial and much error was able to grow what was initially called KS Consultation into one of the best recruiting companies within both Los Angeles and New York City.

Our Executive Employment Staffing Fee Structure

With new clients, KAS Placement works on pure contingency recruiting agreements. Our fee is 20% of the base salary given to either a sales or marketing job applicant whom we place with our client. Each client is given a ninety day pro-rated guarantee on each employee. Upon initially working with us, many companies like to hire us at our retained rate which is a little lower. Part of the initial recruitment and staffing fee is guaranteed upon signature of the contract. The remaining balance is due upon a KAS Placement LA recruiter completing the hiring process. A similar employment guarantee is given to retained clients. To learn more or receive a sample agreement form, feel free to contact a LA recruiter today.

What We Look For Upon the Recruitment of a Sales Representative

Upon interviewing a new business development professional, each LA recruiter at KAS Placement first looks at the resume of the recruitment prospect. A sales resume sent from a sales expert looking to shift careers ought to have fiscal numbers showing their past revenue obtainment from past employers. This is in conjunction with the need for quota amounts and whether they were obtained, whether they were missed, whether they were surpassed, and if so by what percentage or dollar amount. We also look for a strong history of prospecting for new business. Unless you are coming to a LA Recruiter looking for strictly a sales manager / VP or dedication account manager, seeing a history of cold calling, networking and other business obtainment methods is an absolute must.

Personality wise, the individual being recruited by our Los Angeles headhunters must be friendly, have good listening skills, possess good problem solving skills which we access during the interview, must have a network of other professionals who respect him or her and much more.

Just Because a Resume Looks Right - We Seek Out Ambition

To any LA recruiter, a candidate might look perfect on their resume, but if their presentation and professional demeanor does not live up to their written qualifications, it can prevent the candidate from getting hired. Undoubtedly, each KAS LA recruiter and our subsequent clientele base would strongly agree that professionalism is extremely important. There is essentially no argument to be had.

To our Los Angeles recruiters, being a true professional equates to maintaining a high standard of work ethic while being highly knowledgeable about their field of expertise. A true professional makes a serious effort to constantly learn more about sales or marketing, better themselves in any way possible, and they will set both professional and personal goals to raise their own standards. Our sales and marketing recruitment in Los Angeles actively goes out and recruiters for individual job seekers who go above and beyond their basic professional requirements and who absolutely refuse to settle for being average. Since nearly every LA recruiter at our executive staffing agency is trained in house, we are taught from the onset that job applicants with the above traits are worth their weight in gold.

A good recruiter knows the difference between someone who just goes through the motions to complete a task and someone who puts their best effort into everything they do. From your resume to the way you speak on the phone and how you present yourself, a little time and effort speaks volumes about how professional you are. Achieving high standards is challenging. Each KAS Placement LA recruiter firmly understands that the best candidates are serious about their profession and, therefore will do what it takes to reach the next level in their career.

Especially in the current economy, the minimum effort will no longer suffice. A skilled recruiter also understands that being a professional means being fully dedicated to success in every sense of the word. If a candidate does not care about their job, they will not want to spend the time or energy necessary to make them truly great at what they do.

A true professional is invested in their work. This does not mean that you have to absolutely love everything about what they do. No matter how great your job is there will always be things that are tedious or uninspiring. However, in the eyes of each KAS LA recruiter, a real marketing or sales proficient employee will understand that they have to work through the difficult, mundane tasks with vigor, sweat and dedication to reap the rewards of working on what truly inspires them.

Qualifying a Good Lead

When you are first starting out in sales, or trying to grow your business, it is easy to get caught up in chasing down every lead that comes your way. However, it is important to realize that not all prospects are created equal. Learning which ones to pursue and which ones to let go is crucial to conserving precious time and resources. You should aim to concentrate your energy on leads that are going to generate revenue rather than those that are out of reach or not worth your time. Having had prior experience as sales professionals themselves, our sales recruiters are able to quickly differentiate between a good lead and a poor one. When determining whether or not to pursue a prospect, a good sales person should look for the following characteristics:

Need
Especially in today's economy, it is pointless to go after a prospect who does not need your product or service. For example, if you are selling computer hardware with a five year lifespan, a good lead would be someone who bought a similar product four years ago, not someone who just made a purchase a few months back.

Resources
If you want to sell something, you have to find someone who has the resources to buy it. Be wary of prospects that ask about cost right off the bat. If they are most interested in finding a cheap deal rather than the product or service itself, chances are they do not have a great deal of available funds and will most likely not move past the first phase of the sales process.

Authority
A good lead is someone who is actually in a position to make a decision about whether or not to make a purchase. The closer you are to the decision makers, the better you will be able to negotiate and the more quickly you will be able to proceed with your sale. Someone who has to go through three other people just to get approval to make a purchase is unlikely to yield a high gain. Chances are that if the person you are speaking with is not in position of great importance within the company, the company's actual need for your product or service is fairly low.
