Contingency Job Search

The divisional management of the recruiting and search groups at KAS do both retained and contingency executive recruiting. It is more cost effect and more timely for a client to retain us, however we also welcome contingency searches. Depending on the search, the executive recruiter's fee will be a percentage of the referred employee's base salary. On some occasions, these prices will either alter up or down. If you would like to know more about how our mid to senior level and executive search firm goes about their recruiting processes, please see the Executives Search Process page.

KAS Placement's Contingency Sales and Marketing Recruiting Agreement

Only under certain circumstances does KAS Placement do retained contracts.

Since we are successful with nearly every client requirement, our marketing and sales recruiters rarely see a reason for an upfront payment. Most of the time, clients come to our firm because they retained a recruitment organization who took a large fee from them and did not produce. This is precisely why we do not work on upfront fees. The last thing our recruiters want to do is take a large fee upon signature of a contract and not be able to produce.

A lot of the time, staffing organizations accept the fee and do not work very hard on the particular account. Another thing that our clients have seen when entering into a retained contract is that the staffing firm in question does not put its best recruiters on the job. Why would they? They already have the money and regardless of performance they payments are going to come in. There are many things that can go wrong during the hiring of a potential employee and having a company not replace the individual during a certain time window is unethical, however this happens more often than you would imagine when working with some firms on a retained basis.

KAS Placement's Sales and Marketing Contingency Search

KAS Placement takes no fees pertaining to an employee's bonus, commission, or any other compensation beyond the base salary of that employee.

KAS Placement's Executive Sales Recruiting Team does contingency placements at a 22.5% fee of the employee's base salary. Unlike other firms, we do not charge any additional fees related to the hired job seeker's sales performance. KAS Placement gives what is called a 30/60/90 pro-rated guarantee for the hired sales employee.

Payment to our marketing and sales recruiters is due in three installments. The first payment is due after 30 days of employment, the second payment due after 60 days of employment, then the final fee is payable after 90 days of employment. Example: Let's assume that the sales professional's base salary is $200,000. The fee for this particular hire would be $45,000. The billing for this individual would be three installments of $15,000. After 30 days, the amount due to our marketing and sales recruiters would be $15,000, then the next $15,000 would be payable after 60 days, then finally the last $15,000 would be due following the 90th day.

What happens if the employee is no longer with your firm after a period that is shorter than 90 days?

Assume that the sales or marketing employee leaves after 40 days of employment. The initial fee of $15,000 would have been paid and would have matured. However, KAS Placement would not be due the second and third payments of $15,000 each. Due to a very thorough interview and vetting process, this situation almost never comes up, as our marketing and sales recruiters' turnaround is exceedingly low. This is primarily due to the fact that if our sales recruiters believe that a candidate is not fully interested in a position, no matter how good he or she is, we will not present them to our clients. This is part of the reason why KAS Placement is one of the premiere recruiting firms, with a turnover rate in the 5% range.

What happens if KAS Placement's recruiters replace the candidate who didn't work out?

Assuming a sales or marketing employee left our client's organization after 45 days, the initial fee of $15,000 would have been paid. The new (replacement) marketing or sales employee's guarantee would go back to day 0. If you would like to learn more about our fee structure, please feel free to call 866.212.5140.

International Headhunters Rates (Canada Excluded) - Spanish, French, Arabic speakers (and more)

Please note that the fees listed below do not reflect Canadian International Head Hunter rates.

KAS's International Headhunters have worked in every continent and most major Westernized countries. Besides the Western nations, our international headhunters have worked for Israeli, Chinese, Brazilian, Indian, and Saudi companies, and more. Helping international clients break the United States markets is one of our specialties. KAS Placement's international headhunters perform all international sales and marketing recruitment on a retained basis. We charge a 20% retained fee of the employee's base salary. One third of this is due upon signature of the contract; the second payment is due upon the commencement of job applicant interviews; the third installment is payable once our international head hunters complete the corporate hiring process. Our sales recruiters have helped over 20 countries bring business to the United States.

The additional help our international headhunters provide for foreign clients: KAS's team helps with location selection, contract formulation, salary negotiations, training on the regulations of U.S. employment laws, real-estate help, assistance choosing proper legal counsel, and much more. Our international head hunters are here to promptly and effectively solve all of our international clients' staffing needs. If you are an international firm looking to expand within the United States and wish to learn more about our services, please contact 212.348.7670 or 866.212.5140 or any of KAS Placement's regional offices.

Looking to Hire Multiple Sales Employees? KAS's Bulk Rate Recruitment Agreement

Pushing KAS's Executive Sales Team to its Peak - How KAS Works Best

Our recruiters work best when we have access to either the sales or marketing professionals within our client's organization.

It is best that we get to know the personality of the individual who is hiring, as this will help us gauge whether particular applicants would be successful working with them. Also, sometimes the human resources department has a sufficient job description, however hiring managers are able to give our recruiters concepts of what they want, which are almost always hard to put on paper. When a hiring manager calls our recruiters, we have a conference call with both our recruiting and dedicated search teams. Doing this puts all parties on the same page and greatly increases the odds for success.

Due to demand for our services, our recruiters are able to pick and choose the companies with whom we work. Sometimes after speaking with the hiring manager our recruiters feel that we are not on the same page and kindly decline the offer to work with that firm. Typically, this is better for all parties. However, the majority of the time, KAS Placement is able to successfully work with the hiring manager.

KAS Placement does both contingency and retained searches.
